Hello: The older I get, the more open I have become to different styles of music. Even within the House genre, I've been stretching out and pushing the bounderies. At the end of the day, it's about pleasing the people. This is something different, I hope you enjoy listening. T Disko 2010

Podcast Summary"Your source for real underground house music with that classic feel" Bookings: CANOBROS@GMAIL.COM About Cano Bros.Tony is a music fan first and foremost. His father was a collector of Classical Mexican Music and his love for music was passed on through him. Tony started playing records for his grammar school class parties while in fifth grade. Later, Tony and his brother Frank started playing records for family parties by taking two Zenith stereo consoles side by side and playing continuous music for the evening (no mixing). Tony was later introduced to the mix concept by DJs while attending parties sponsored by Senn High School’s Aspira Club at the East Palace on the north side of Chicago (Foster & Sheridan). The East Palace actually had a lighted dance floor as seen on the movie Saturday Night Fever. As Tony continued to attend one-off parties promoted by the Disco All-Stars, Moonlight Traveling Disco, Sunset Mobile Disco, Janels Disco and the Rainbo Roller Rink, his passion for mix culture continued to grow. While all of these events were taking place at the street level, Chicago radio started to boom as well. Tony’s taste in music and mixing style was further influenced by WDAI, WBMX, Hot Mix Five, WGCI, Herb Kent, Frankie Knuckles, WNUR Street Beat Show, and B96. Tony credits these experiences as his influences that led him to becoming a DJ. Tony’s mom purchased his first set of Technics Turntables and Numark Mixer at the age of 14. Tony and his Brother Frank’s reputation as DJs grew by playing at house parties, banquet halls, nightclubs, local and traveling gigs. Tony has held residencies at New Age Chicago, Coconuts Night Club, Riviera Night Club, China Club, Casanova’s, Erick’s North, Roxy and Shadows. From the club scene, Tony went on to have his mixes aired nationwide on Sirius Satellite Radio and locally in Chicago on WLUW 88.7 FM. Tony has taken the next logical progression in music from DJ to a producer and remixer. His production work has charted #1 position on the Billboard Dance/Club Charts for his work with Music Plant and Sony/Jellybean Records. Tony’s production work has been released on Music Plant, Vinyl Soul, Sony, Jellybean, and Jive Records to name a few. Tony’s biggest accomplishment as a remixer was the opportunity to remix songs for Georgie Porgie, La India, and RKelly. Today, Tony continues to share his passion for music through spinning at gigs and via his website “www.gottahavehouse.com” which has been on the internet for over a decade. Tony can be reached via email at canobros@gmail.com.
